Fostering a strong economy in Puerto Rico that creates employment opportunities for residents and a dynamic business community will help the Island become more self-sufficient. Doing so will reduce Puerto Rico’s dependence on U.S. taxpayers to fund social safety nets, disaster response efforts, and infrastructure projects.
